I have seen hundreds of places I never would have known
The past few years, I have seen hundreds of places I never would have known about or had access to, if not for my privileged job. Some of my favorites: Government buildings, old hotels with secret “speak-easies” in the basements, helicopter landing pads on the tops of downtown high rises and the beautiful state parks that some may people forget L.A. is privy to. With every location comes an owner, manager, facilities coordinator or security guard, each with his or her own story to tell about their property. Each day I learn something new about various occupations, different cultures and historical facts—making every stop I make during my day, like stepping in somebody else’s shoes for a bit.
