Working as a PA on a television show may be a little more stable,
especially if you are lucky enough to land a job on a long running show. Your jobs in TV will be more specific and centrally located, probably at a studio or production office.
Film PA’s on the other hand tend to work all over the place.
Sometimes they are on location, sometimes running errands or in the Production office. They seem to have more varied job responsibilities than TV PAs.
Decide what area of movies and television you want to work in. Where do you want to grow and excel within the industry? You can work on purely entertainment projects like “Spider-Man” or “The Tonight Show”.
Or you could choose to work on educational and industrial projects instead (projects used to teach and instruct others). Maybe you want to work in the fast paced world of commercials or music videos. If you have a specific desire to work in one of these areas, then it is a good idea to work as a PA in that area, so you can move up faster.
