Universal Pictures

Another company was nationally minded when they thought of a trademark – Walter Wagner Productions. They chose an immense eagle, done in the modern manner. Mr. Wagner decided upon the eagle because he is somewhat a “lone eagle” in the production business; also because the eagle stands for strength and dominance – and for the unusual.

The newly formed Pickford-Lasky Company is still considering a fitting emblem, so is Universal. The Universal aeroplane, which circles the globe at the outset of their pictures is soon to be superseded by the renowned China Clipper and a model is being built at the studio for that particular purpose. The old plane was a bi-plane affair, neither streamlined nor as modern as the studio knows their every picture to be, hence the change.
